Weekend Update

A late post due to a pretty manic Monday.

I went to Hard On on Saturday night, one of London's main alt cruise and dance fetish clubs. It's very different to the usual clubs or events I normally enjoy but it seems to be fairly representative of the scene that a lot of gays are into. It can make for a fun night out although sometimes I'm not sure I'd class it as much of a kink club; more a chance for guys to get their jocks and harnesses out on show, dance a little and hit the darkrooms for some orgy-esque activity.

I've nothing against that and actually had a really great night but I do feel glad that there are alternative venues in the capital. Ones where a guy on his knees worshiping boots is common sight or the smell of years of leather and boot polish envelop you as you enter. It's this type of club I value the most, mainly because they seem to support or welcome areas of S&M or D/s play that aren't often seen at events like Hard On. I love a night in my local fetish bar and seeing guys securely tied to the fixtures with rope or a pup in hood and mitts yapping at his Masters feet for all to see. So whilst a somewhat drunken boogie and a darkroom fumble can be great fun in Hard On and other similar clubs, long live the more traditional gay fetish bars and clubs that, in my opinion, can add so much more to the gay fetish and S&M experience.
